For Communique Education Safeguarding is more than just a box to tick
25 November 2025

Safeguarding knowledge and skills are an essential part of education practice. Safeguarding is not just about ticking a box to show you have attended a course, it's about helping to create a school environment, where children and young people can thrive, free from any harm.
Understanding the principles and practices of Safeguarding is essential when working in education. Completing quality, accredited Safeguarding training means that staff are aware of the signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect and can spot them as early as possible. This means they also know how to deal with Safeguarding concerns and disclosures properly.
At Communique Education we take Safeguarding very seriously and our Level 2 Safeguarding course goes beyond the basics, providing a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding principles. Our candidates have all received Level 2 Safeguarding Training and so have gained insights into quickly recognising the signs of abuse, understanding the impact on students, and effectively responding to safeguarding concerns. All our candidates receive refresher training every 12 months that takes in any changes, developments and updates on this very important issue.
Completing safeguarding training not only fosters a safer working environment but also contributes to the overall well-being and protection of individuals who may be at risk. This knowledge empowers our supply teachers and teaching assistants to actively contribute to the creation of secure spaces for young people in our client schools, ensuring our supply team work effectively with individual school’s safeguarding policies.
We have partnered with one of the UK's leading providers of Safeguarding training to deliver training to our candidates including our refresher courses. Our on-line Level 2 Safeguarding course employs interactive modules that keep participants actively involved and engaged as we all know learning is most effective when it's engaging.
Keeping abreast of the latest regulations and standards is also crucial in Safeguarding. We ensure that or Level 2 Safeguarding course aligns with current legislation and guidelines.
Our schools can be confident that the knowledge our participants acquire is up-to-date and compliant with the industry's best practices.
When we originally searched for a partner to provide our safeguarding training, we wanted to find an organisation who could boost the confidence and competence of our candidates when it came to safeguarding. We feel our candidates are better equipped to navigate complex safeguarding issues, respond appropriately to concerns, and contribute proactively to the well-being of those under their care.
We wanted our training to enhance our candidates professional safeguarding skills so they could learn about communication, reporting procedures, and working with other agencies. We wanted them:
- To understand the importance of Safeguarding and what it means at a practical level.
- To be able to identify and recognise safeguarding concerns in a school environment.
- To know how to report a Safeguarding concern within client schools.
- To know how to properly safeguard children and young people
All our candidates will have undergone Safeguarding training to Level 2 standards before they start work in any of our schools. Some, when they first sign on with us, may have done their training with other agencies. However within 12 months of signing on with us they will have completed our training course and be fully certificated with Communique Education. Our on-line CPD accredited Level 2 Safeguarding course gives a more in-depth understanding of safeguarding and of the issues involved. It is a premium level and very comprehensive training course with the following aims:
- To understand key concepts, legislation, guidance and best practices related to safeguarding children
- To understand the importance of Safeguarding.
- To be able to identify and recognise different forms of abuse
- To know how to identify and respond to child protection concerns effectively.

Our course is 3 hours in length, and as the training is carried out on-line it can be returned to at any time, meaning our candidates can update themselves if they experience any issues they are unsure about. There are short assessments throughout the training and there is a final assessment that participants must pass to gain a certificate of completion. The course is updated each year in line with the KCSIE guidance.
We feel that by investing in our candidates and providing them with high quality training like this we meet your needs and ensure that when it comes to Safeguarding you can be sure our supply team understand the issues involved and deliver on best practice. Its all part of the difference we want to make.
